PARK VIEW COMMUNITY SCHOOL

Headteacher's Welcome

Iain Veitch, Headteacher

Dear Parents

First and foremost, welcome to Park View Community School. The purpose of this website is to introduce you to the school and to provide information you may find useful. I hope it will answer any questions you may have and, should you join us in either a student or employee capacity, continue to prove to be useful during your time with us.

As our reputation, Ofsted reports, and the award of both Leading Edge and High Performing Specialist status have all confirmed, we have many strengths. First and foremost, we have high standards of teaching which are partnered to challenging expectations of students in terms of achievement and behaviour. The net result is very pleasing annual performance in external examinations, with the vast majority of students achieving their potential. However, our main aim is to give each young person an education of real worth, one which will equip him/her to take a place in society as a responsible, informed person who has high self-esteem and respect for others. Thus, we firmly believe that a child's education must include the widest range of opportunities, be they sporting, cultural, recreational or social. To this end, the school is committed to involvement in a wide ranging programme of activities including exchange visits overseas, music ensembles, sport, full-scale dramatic productions, charity fund-raising and much more.

Our success as a Language College has brought an international dimension of all that we do, greatly increasing students' understanding of themselves as global citizens. To date, we have partner schools in China, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh, as well as many European countries closer to home.

Park View's success is built upon a true partnership of all stakeholders, be they students, parents/carers, teachers or the wider community. We have a shared vision and determination to ensure that ours is a school where every child truly does matter and has the right to succeed.

Yours,

Iain Veitch
